Olhao, the last remaining "working town" in the Algarve, with its web of cobbled little streets with cafes that spill out onto them, is renowned for its fish, vegetable, and meat market. It is a vibrant and lively place to visit. Close by three wonderful islands offer the visitor tranquility and some of the most wonderful beaches in Europe.
Opposite the school and next door to the Pool House, is a magnificent 19th century building that housed the first bank in Olhao. The School is situated in the coach house and stables of the bank owners residence (the Pool House).
With vaulted ceilings, Roman brick work, three courtyards and an olive tree (believed to be over 150 years old), the school has transformed this into an exceptional space for artistic creativity. An additional feature is the beautiful light outside. There is full spectrum lighting when needed in the main room.
With easels - radial and portable, and an expanding collection of props every artist can feel at home with brush and palette.
The Pool House (next door) sleeps 10 and is the accommodation for visiting art school course students. It Iis the only house in Olhao with its own swimming pool. There are also extra terraces that provide further space for artwork.
